EDNYmyway: Melissa Gerstein

Elizabeth Daniel New York (www.elizabethdanielny.com) was made for busy Momslike Melissa Gerstein. One thing that this working mom of three knows well, is that “stylish comfort on the go” is the key to her success! Melissa was seen wearing Elizabeth Daniel New York Ruffle Style paired with AG jeans and a Gap fur vest at the Escape From Planet Earth Premiere in New York City. 

Melissa is a co-founder of the multi-platform lifestyle brand The MOMS (www.themoms.com). She and her partner also serve as “spokesmoms” for many national household brands and a have appeared on NBC’s The Today Show, Good Morning America, Fox News and many other national programs.  The MOMS partner with other companies and non-profits to host events and satellite media tours.  Sample household brands have included Energizer, Build-A-Bear, and Coca-Cola FOR their brand of Mamarazzi® events where they bring the celebrity to the moms. Currently, Melissa is also a contributor to HLN’s new show, Raising America.  

Prior to The Moms, she was a founding partner in Moms & The City, where she hosted and produced a television show within the NBC family. She wrote for the NY Daily News online,BabyCenter.com and has created, hosted, and produced celebrity events.

Spotted: Two EDNY Classic Shirts at One Event

The chances that two fashionistas would be spotted at the same event wearing the same shirt are normally slim to none, that is unless the matching wardrobe item in question is one of our Elizabeth Daniel NY Classic Shirts!  This past Sunday a little birdie told us (and snagged images of) two of the judges on the preliminary panel of the 6^th Annual Independent Handbag Designer Awards (the “Handbag Oscars”) as they gathered in Manhattan to select finalists for the June event.

What we love about this fashion moment is that even though they were both wearing a Classic Shirt (though in different colors) they completely made the looks their own!  We love how Sarah Reynolds of Iced Media paired hers with edgy rag & bone jeans, while on-air style expert Pamela Pekerman pulled off a more uptown, classic look with our white shirt and a brocade skirt!

Chances are, if you’re involved and interested in Twitter and/or fashion, you know Sarah Reynolds without even realizing it.  By day Sarah is the voice of the well known and much followed Twitter account for Kmart (@KmartFasion) among several other fashionable social media projects she handles.  Due to her love of great fashion and great art,  we were eager to see how Sarah would dress up our Elizabeth Daniel NY shirts and of course, her #EDNYmyway post was beautiful.  In this photo Sarah has paired our classic style shirt in black with a Christian Dior shirt, DKNY tights and shoes by Melissa.  The result is a stunning look we’re sure to try a version of ourselves!

EDNYmyway: Celia San Miguel

Express Yourself. Material Girl. Borderline.  These songs instantly began running through our heads when we received the images Celia San Miguel, founder of Sicka Than Average (http://www.sickathanaverage.com/) took for her #EDNYmyway post.  Beyond our fabulous black tuxedo shirt, Celia is wearing a Nanette Lepore tiered ruffled mini, black HUE lace stockings, Jeffrey Campbell ankle booties with silver studs along the ankle collar, a red DKNY handbag, a striped oversize bow headband from Ban.do, starburst earrings from Erika Pena jewelry, a Virgins Saints & Angels ring, and another Alexis Bittar ring.  Quite a list, but combined it creates one our favorite #EDNYmyway looks to date.

Vera Sweeney is the kind of lady who was made to wear Elizabeth Daniel New York: she’s chic and fashion savvy, she’s busy, and like many of our customers she does enough in one day to make you tired.

Not only is she the founder of hot, celebrity/fashion website I’m Not Obsessed (http://www.imnotobsessed.com/) as well as it’s “fashion sister” Lady and the Blog (http://www.ladyandtheblog.com/) , but you’ll also spot her covering hot celebrity and fashion events around the city, all the while holding down the important job of mother and wife as well.   Vera recently received one of our white, ruffle shirts for the EDNYmyway series and created not one but two looks we just love that showcased her personal style.  In the shots here Vera styled her Elizabeth Daniel New York shirt with Seven for All Mankind jeans, a necklace from Banana Republic, Steve Madden Caryssa shoes, an Avorio leather bag and a Liz Lange sweater.

Though Elizabeth Daniel New York shirts are known for their classic, timeless look, we love the #EDNYmyway series because it lets women to add their own signature style to our look.  We were excited to have Alexis join the series as we knew she’d add some downtown fashion flavor to our Elizabeth Daniel New York black tuxedo shirt and we weren’t wrong.  In this shot, Alexis paired her Elizabeth Daniel New York top with dark wash J Brand Bell Bottoms and patent leather Louboutin pumps – love!  The close up you see here features a layered black pearl necklace which is an original design by Julia Fernandez-Pol of Drop Jewels (www.dropjewels.com) along with a large pendant Alexis found in Mexico years ago.  We couldn’t finish up the fashion post without giving a shout-out to her amaing red hair, a color created by hair genius Michael Angelo of Wonderland Beauty Parlor.

From Glamour to nars to her own blog www.sarazucker.com, Sara is known for her savvy social media and blogging skills as much as she’s known for her distinct and stand-out fashion sense. If you want to be on the inside of some of New York’s hottest fashion events and parties, live vicariously through her and follow her on Twitter! In this EDNYmyway shot, Sara took our classic shirt in black and made it her own, pairing it with a full, metallic, vintage brocade skirt and Sam Edelman boutique ankle booties. Love! We also love that Sara posted her look on her own blog and highlighted another great feature of Elizabeth Daniel New York shirts: they’re the perfect button-down for “chesty” gals!

We cannot get enough of Pamela who appears to have walked straight out of a spring fashion spread wearing our classic white shirt which she paired perfectly with Hudson Jeans, Alexandre Birman purple python pumps, a Caroloee necklace from their 40^th anniversary collection and can we just say, perfect hair.  Pamela wore  this Elizabeth Daniel look at work first (office chic) straight to a plane to jet over to LA to shoot some fashion segments.  We know she’ll not only look good, but our shirts are the perfect comfort-tops for travel.  Bon Voyage Pamela!
